Data entry jobs war

April 17th, 2007

Hi people.

I have coming to write this article because I have seen a lot of people asking questions if the Data Entry jobs are legitimate or not. I wan to make clear from the beginning that everything I write in this article is based on my own experience. As a result, I have made some research on the internet and guess what ? I suppose that yo already know the answer… I am not alone. I have seen a lot off people complaining about this, a lot of people asking for this type of home based job and as I will explain a bit later a strange way of so called victims to recruit another ones.

How the trap is set ? Well is something like this…

As a home worker or a freelancer people, search on the internet about different jobs to add some more income to their families. All of us have bills to pay and the most exposed category are the moms, old people and sick people which are try to get some income when they are at home and not able to work on site.

Which jobs are quite easy ? Among a few in the top is the Data Entry. Looks easy to do and all websites which promote this type of work says that no experience is required and Anybody Can Do it ! That´s right anybody. This is the magic word.Ok, what others things are important ? The money, of course… How much you can get ? They say at least $200 in a few hours. Wow, that´s something you don´t wan to miss.

What else ? Work any time, as much you wan. Hmm.. looks like the perfect job for anybody who has a few hours to spend at home and make some money.

Ok how do we start ? Let´s do a search on Google… Just try “Data Entry Job” You get a lot of results. Which are the most relevant ? I think many of you agree that sponsored ones usually worth our attention because are paid by someone and that means some way of checking in the payment process right ? Most people think that way, so let´s try a few.

First I found is From RentAcoder which require an account and once you are inside they ask you for a lot of personal & payment information. Of course you can found any information you need related to how the system work and you can try everything yourself. You can search for a job, post a bid and at the end see who the winners was. They act as an intermediary between the employer and the worker and do arbitrations when things goes in the wrong directions. You have a protected medium for your work if you follow their rules. Of course, searching for a job there, place the bid, earning it means a lot of time and is not an easy job. Some candidates are really disappointed because they can not earn projects to work on. The god point is that they can easy leave the system and they don´t loose nothing outside the time invested with their tries.
Same way are working most of the freelancing websites. Not easy to get a job there.

What are the alternatives ? Something more easy and with an immediate income.Data Entry for home… few more entries below, I found two DataEntry.Wannexllc.com and iNetDataEntry.com. They both promote Data Entry working from home and assure you that you can easy make at least $200 bucks a day. In fact in a few hours.
Their website looks quite well for the non-experienced eye. A lot of big text to catch the visitor eye and a lot of explanations about how easy you will earn the money.Going down the page you have some pictures with sample forms and in some cases tables with how much they earned. Of course some positive feedback from so called subscribers is there to make you think : “What the hell. I can do this myself too.”
Almost of the end of the page you say that Wow… there is a promotion in place. You have to pay only $50 for a short period instead of $99 or $150 or even more sometimes.Looks like a good deal right ? Who wan to miss´ it ?
Go up and read all the instructions again. Too good to be true right ? So let´s go deeper.

At the end of the page there is the registration link or a section which ask you to go for the payment. They make it even easy by accepting different form of payments.Going on the payment pages you can see in many cases their bank information for wire transfers, they full address and sometime other kind of information which make you think that they are (remember the word) Legitimate. And yes, they are.The company and the person behind this are legitimate ones. The work they give ?? We will see later.
No go back and read all over again.Look better at their instructions, because are the only ones you will see after subscription.
From now on, please stop here and DONT´t spent your money. I already did it myself :) and I will told you what happened.
I have used my CC and purchased the so called subscription for $44.99 and after about 1 hour I get the confirmation and the order receipt from them.

What you normally expect in this situation ? A user account based on a login and a password and a private section where you will found the list of so called “partner companies” from where you will select the open data entry jobs, for which you have paid the subscription. Well prepare for a shock… All what I´ve get was a link to a static html page which can easily be guessed from a few tries, by almost any average internet user. And what is there ? A list with around 20 links to freelancing websites and a set of links to some company websites which usually present their offers on their own websites and you need to follow the normal steps for hiring. Please note that most of them are already closed, dead links but most important none of them are Home Working Jobs!
That´s right folks. That is all you can get for the $50 you spent.
Of course I must say that they are promoting the affiliate program for this type of SCAM and give you a mirror website to make more victims. In other words you have to do a lot of work to promote your website and spend other monies to register on Google, Yahoo, etc. promotional systems.
Is that something you have expected ? I think not.

So I have spent my money on something that I already know and easily I can found on any search engine because are tons of articles about this subject. And most of them are free !

Now how we can get our money back ? Most of those website claim that the payment is not refundable so what you can do ? Personally as soon I have seen the members area I sent them an email back and asked for a full refund.Of course that I mentioned about a report to http://www.ic3.gov/ if they don´t make the refund. In my case I was lucky I think. In short time I saw on Google Checkout the refund and cancellation of my order.

Please look better at those websites. You will find a model on all similar ones and they are quite easy to spot.

Now you remember the word “Legitimate” work ? Why is that important ? Because another category even smarter than the previous one pretend that they are the real ones who provide this kind of work and they they have similar stories like the one I have put here. The difference is that they always recommend you at the end 2 or 3 similar services which they of course are promoting and have only good words about them. Finally, if you will follow their recommendation you will end up on a site like I have described before.

Please remember that I didn´t worked or have any contact with the one below but is just a samples I wan to show you among the two ones mentioned before which by the way are owned by the same company.

http://www.legitonlinejobs.com/index.html

So a few rules to remember:

1. Never pay for such packages if you have not saw them in action at someone closer to you.
2. Most of the companies that offer such kind of work can send you FREE promotional samples.Never pay for them.
3. Stay away from this type of websites .If you have the most insignificant doubt leave them instantly
4. Try to find real jobs on freelancers websites. Look closely there too and if they ask for payments in advance try to search for more informations and ask peoples on forums, etc… Most of them provide discussion boards.
5. Real jobs are hard to find and require dedicated skills, even for Data Entry.Keep in mind that.

Is war out there and the bad thing is that victims are the normal people, like in any war. Who will be the winner ? I let you judge that.

    Hi Naveena ,
    and Thank You for visiting

I am really sorry to hear that… You can try to ask for a refund if you have made the payment using Google Checkout. I think might work for the PayPal too. Send an email to their support email address and ask for a refund on your transaction ID. You should find that in your order confirmation message. Come back and let ‘me know the result.

    Regards,
    Cornel.

    Hi Henna,

and Thanks to all of you for your comments. It´s a real pleasure to see that I can help others.

    Nick:

thehomeworker.org looks to follow the same presentation rules like the other scam websites.I did not try it so I can´t say more but I am almost sure that is a scam. The main reason is they ask money for it, so my advise is to stay away from them.

    June 5th, 2007 | #

I,m really gald to see a response from you cornell. Hope life’s treating you well. I just read the recent comment about homeworker.org being a scam. what about dataentrymadeeasy.com? are they also a scam since they are demanding almost $99 as fee?

    June 6th, 2007 | #

  42. cornelalexa says

    Hi Henna,

They follow the same presentation like the other ones and asking for payment in front is a clear mark for scam, whatever the reason they name for that.

There are many people who are cheated by these tall promises in teh past. Unfortunately none of them made any effort to save others.

Your efforts, honestly, are heroic in some sense. These organisations are making victims out of people who are already victimised by life. Simply imagine by the number of entires in your site the lives you saved from cheating. Kudos to you……this is an inspiration for me to use inetrnet everytime i get cheated. At least someone can be saved.

    Hi Cornelalexa,
A friend emailed inet to us. I was hoping it was legit as this friend always checks things out on Snoops and lets us know when emails are fake. I. like the rest, decided to do more research and came across your blog. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

I would also like to let everyone know that there are other sites that, along with the data entryi nfo, offer to also send you information on how to use ebay and information to be a “Secret shopper.” I instantly knew they were scams as my daughter had called a help wanted ad from our local paper to be a “Secret Shopper” They said it was a $30 charge and they would send you the information to get started. Not only didn’t she receive any info in the mail, but she also had her debit card hit several more times for subscriptions to shopping guides or clubs that the secret shopper scammer enrolled her in. It was a few months before she realized they were deducting 29.95 a month from her account. She ended up with a lot of overdraft fees before she realized what was happening. Those company’s did send literature telling you to call within 2 wks to cancel but since you were clueless that you enrolled, their literature looked like more “junk mail” and didnt get opened until it was too late. I hope this helps others.

    Thanks again,
    Joyce

Thank you very much. Your site was so very helpful for me. You saved me $63(inr 2700).The site realy can take the novice for a ride. You really did a great job. I doubted the site because it was against my philosphy (I believe that you can’t make money without having any special skills and without sweating in other words there isn’t anything called easy money in this world) the site asserts that it is not suggesting “get rich quickly” ideas but on the contrary it was doing so. Once again from the depth of my heart let me thank you and appreaciate the time you have taken to research on the fake offer and your kind heartedness to share that with the rest of the world.

    Hi Guys.

I just can´t say how happy I am when I see that I saved almost 100 people from those scammers. For those of you which are keep asking for legitimate companies all I can say is that there is no one I know until now. I have started this post to help people to avoid those kind of scams and I promise do not made any recommendations because the chance to hit a scam company are too big.On the other hand this is a trick used by some of so called “legitimate” and “good” people to recruit more victims in their services.

As you see here from almost 100 post there is nobody with a good experience and I think that this says everything.

And Tatz, all I can´t say is stay away from Type International. From my investigations they are not far away from InetData…

All the best and Watch Yourself!

Hi to all. I have been working at home for almost two years now as a medical transcriptionist. I, too, started out looking for something quick to get started working at home because I have children and wanted to be able to be a stay-at-home mom and still earn a living. I searched so many sites that “guaranteed” success, but in the end found that none of them were legitimate. I did take a home study course in medical transcription through PCDI, did it on my own time (took me 4 months), and then applied several times for positions as a home transcriptionist. I finally was offered a chance, but had to work at the company for 7 months on site for training. I am now working at home and I do believe that all my hard work was worth it in the end. I have a very steady income with a total benefit package. I work a flexible schedule so that I can work around my family’s needs. Basically, what I wanted to tell everyone is that there are work at home jobs out there, but you have to work hard for it. One last thing, I did not pay to start working for my current employer. They paid me from the very start. If you have to pay, you are being scammed. PERIOD. That should always be the deciding factor when reading these “opportunities”. There are tons of Medical transcription positions available all over the world. This is money to be made while working at home, but you have to be willing to do the training for it. In my opinion, it is totally worth the effort and very rewarding. I will be working in my P.J’s come Monday morning. :-)

    hi,
i I came across your blog when i search for some of the data entry home base jobs posted in Google search engine. I have been receiving similar job offers through my email, and sad to say all of them are asking for a fee which made me think twice. how could they  they are promoting a fake offer and what scares me is that a lot of people fall for this type of scam because a lot really needs work. I really thank you for the awareness campaign that you made on your blog. I just hope that you will also have time to give us some links on those really legitimate ones. God bless!!!

    Hi,

I am sorry i am reading this blog late, cause i was also scammed & cheated by www.inetdataentry.com & i paid the 49$ and when i got the mail for userid and password i was happy that i got that but when i logged in and went to the members area as per the site i found there was some links which was not working or it was dead and the other links which was working asked again 49$ to register with them. I think this is a chain of scams going on. Please beware of this site. Any way to teach www.inetdataentry.com a lesson just go to the google page and say data entry jobs and you will find this site on the right side of the google page which is called adwords. Just go on clicking 100s of times till his credit card makes him bankrupt cause google will charge this person 50 cents per click to his card. Bye of now.

    I have also found a site business-opportunity-review.co.uk

They also employ a solisiter adviseing people on their legal rights (or so they claim!!). Their list of companies is huge ranging from general, share trading and racing tips. There is a joining fee involved. Could this be a scam in itself??? Please advise! Should this be legit, it would be a God-send!!

A rule that applies to all these websites like idataentry.com is that if something seems too good to be true, it always is. You don’t get anything for free. Know that this is the same story with several emailing programmes, e.g. “80euromail.com” and such; you will actually be clicking those emails and seeing your account grow in value, but at the point you reach payout you’re only forwarded to a random worthless site, although you will have spent about 1-2 hours on only clicking emails and cashing your acc, and some several on reading info.

Anyway; thanks for confirming this is plain scam too. And lot, simply ignore any website which looks flashy and is too aggressive in wanting you to subscribe; any normal company wouldn’t even think of such recruitment tactics. Think of how they practically can turn your work into their money, and if you can’t think of any logical process, or theirs leaves you too uninformed, get info from 3d parties (of which you are certain they are 3d parties, such as on a blog or forum as this one) before you take steps you don’t really wanna take. Think before you act!
    Regards.

Hi guys, like most of you, I too was about to join home-profits.biz when i decided to check up joe kerz and came across this site. I too heaved a sigh of relief and thanked god that i didnt join. But in the last comment, Warrior says that no one has checked out this home-profits.biz site. Coincidently if you all have observed, most of the people who have posted comments have tried sites other than this one. I too would really like to know whether this site is genuine or no.
